Hot Dog Recipes are one of my favorite hobbies, I love to find a new way to use my favorite Frank and then test them out on my family and friends. My kids and I even instituted a special night of the week to try out new and exciting hot dog recipes. Some are winners and others not so much, but when you find that great sauce, a new way to top your favorite brand of wiener, or my favorite, a no bun recipe that utilizes a hot dog in a non traditional way, it is well worth the time and effort.
This is where you get to join in and help me and others discover all of the amazing Hot Dog Recipes there are out there. I have divided them into three distinct categories, Traditional hot dog recipes ( the all american classic on a bun with your favorite toppings) Hot Dog sauces and No-Bun hot dog recipes ( the wiener made into other dishes)

Hot Dog sauces come in variety of styles and flavors, everything from mild to spicy, from meatless to chili. A great sauce can make or break a Hot dog vendor and take ordinary hot dog recipes to the next level. Some have become world famous (Coney Sauce) some are more regional but at the end of the day they serve to separate one vendor from another and add one more layer of great flavor to your favorite Hot Dog.
Do you have a special or unique condiment you serve on your Hot Dogs or add to your hot dog recipes? Do you have a favorite restaurant or vendor that has their own blend that you can share with the rest of us?

Of course a great Hot Dog and Bun are major factors but what you put on top can either enhance or take away from taste of your Frankfurter. While everyone has there own taste and favorite toppings any real Hot Dog lover is open and looking to try new hot dog recipes. Depending on the region of the country you are from you probably have grown up thinking that there is only one way to enjoy your favorite weiner. But there are just as many if not more combinations of toppings as there are cities and towns in the country. I say lets try them all!

The "57" When it comes to hot dog recipes it is hard to go wrong with a good sauce and cheese.
To me this is by far the most creative and fascinating section. Don't get me wrong nothing beats a great hotdog on a bun but when you are looking for a way to change up your menu or add some variety nothing beats No-Bun hot dog recipes. The versatility of the Frankfurter is amazing and you can find it in everything from soup to pizza. The picture above is an example of a great Hot Dog recipe "spicy chili hotdog lasagna" doesn't that sound awesome? to me it does and will be trying it out later this week!
So what is your favorite no-bun recipe? have you ever thought about the possibilities? Mine is a very simple one that I call "HotDog Surprise" It is simply some spaghetti, Garlic, butter, Italian seasoning and of course my favorite hotdog. The great thing about no-bun hot dog recipes is that you can show off the flavor and characteristics of different brands depending on the recipe.
